Robert Rotella ’71, a talented three-sport athlete at Castleton, directs the highly regarded sports psychology program at the University of Virginia. He is a performance consultant to sports organizations, including U.S. Olympic teams and major league sports teams, and to prominent professional athletes throughout the world. A recognized golfer in his own right, he consults with leading tournament players. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the mental aspects of winning. At Castleton, he was captain of both the lacrosse and basketball teams and played golf. After graduation, he coached high school basketball and college lacrosse.As a club lacrosse player, he was named an All-American and played in the North-South Game.
