Center forward of the powerful field hockey team, she was quick and exhibited superb stick work. With her natural athletic ability, she was always interested in mastering new sports. In her junior year, she joined the gymnastics team and in 1975 won 1st place in the all-around compulsories for beginners at the Vermont State Collegiate meet. In 1976, she was the team’s MVP and winner of the Coaches’ Award. Following graduation, she coached field hockey, basketball, and track, and continues to teach physical education. Her high school gymnastics program in Middlebury produced three state championship teams.
