Bryan DeLoatch, ’85, was the best Castleton athlete of his time and arguably ever. In soccer, he was the NAIA 1st team All-American goalkeeper in his senior year after three years as an honorable mention. He was also named All-New England-Division III goalkeeper. He established Castleton records at that position of 23 career shutouts, 10 shutouts in one season, 543 career saves, and a goal per game average of 1.19. Castleton’s soccer MVP for two years, he also played one year of baseball and four years of basketball on powerhouse teams that ranked Castleton among the best small colleges in the country. In his senior year, he was the basketball MVP. An honor student and proud grandson of Isadora DeLoatch. He was three times awarded the Coaches’ Trophy for his outstanding ability in two or more sports.
