Casey Wedge ’06 etched her name across the Castleton women’s basketball record book during her standout four-year career with the Spartans. As a sophomore she made a name for herself, taking home North Atlantic Conference Co-Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors while averaging 15.9 points per game and leading the Spartans to their first-ever NAC Championship. Her team finished the year with a 21-7 record, including a 15-1 mark in conference action, buoyed by her impressive three-point shooting. Wedge connected on a then record 82 three-point field goals, while shooting 38.0 percent from beyond the arc. As a junior, Wedge led her team to an 18-9 record to earn NAC Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors once again. She averaged 15.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while making 80 three-point field goals. Wedge concluded her career with a third First-Team All-Conference selection after averaging 15.2 points and 4.0 assists per game to go with a program-record 83 three-point field goals on 39.0 percent shooting. She finished her career third all-time in Castleton history with 1,474 points and first in three-point shooting with 277 three pointers while making 38.1 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc. Wedge also played one year of lacrosse and two seasons of soccer. She totaled 11 goals and six assists with the soccer team, helping them claim the program’s first NAC Title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005. Wedge is a dental hygienist and resides in Milton, Vermont.
