Dan Hudson, ’65, was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1988 as part of the 1963 National Championships soccer team. His achievements at Castleton and in the community make it necessary to recognize him as an individual member of the Hall of Fame. Dan played a vital role on the 1963 National Championship team and was a NAIA All-American. Since graduating from Castleton, Dan has maintained an active role in leading others to succeed, as several of his former players have gone on to experience much success in the coaching ranks. At Hazen Union School in Hardwick, Vermont, a school at which he is currently a highly respected administrator, Dan was a very successful soccer and basketball coach. He won several state titles and coach of the year awards en route to leading his soccer teams to an impressive career record of226-150-38. Dan’s legacy as an excellent coach and valuable community member is certainly one that is worthy of formal recognition.
