Peter Gallagher was one of the most successful coaches at Castleton.  Coaching from 1984 through 1999, Peter led his student athletes to tremendous success.  Throughout his coaching career, Peter was chosen as coach of the year three times at Castleton, and he was selected NAIA District Five Coach of the Year in 1991.  Each year Peter’s teams competed for the NAIA Districts, the ECAC Championship, and the National Championship in ’88, ’90, ’91, and ’92. Peter coached over a dozen student athletes who competed at the national level, and in 1995 coached a female cross country runner who was chosen NCAA Female Athlete of the Year.  Peter is currently a financial consultant and resides in Rutland, Vermont.
