She was a four-year letter winner on a very competitive Division I cross-country ski team, winning the 1989 Sharon Brown MemorialAward and graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was chosen as team captain her junior season. Since graduation, Kris has become a sergeant in the United States Army and has represented the United States on the Biathlon World Cup circuit and in the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics. In the 2002 Olympics, Kris skied the anchor leg of the women’s 4 x 7.5km relay, the final biathlon event. Krish has the honor of being one of the eight American athletes chosen in the 2002 Olympic Games to carry the World Trade Center Flag into the Opening Ceremony.
