Castleton’s 1973 Men’s Lacrosse Team built their program by demonstrating to their fans the unity of teamwork. Having established a name for themselves from the previous season, the Spartans proved once again that they were a team from Vermont that needed to be taken seriously. Although there were several individual school records that were broken in the ’73 season, it was a team effort that placed the Spartans in a position at the end of the season to earn the first ECAC post-season bid in the sport of men’s lacrosse at Castleton. After completing their regular season, the Castleton lacrosse team competed in the ECAC New England Championship to finish the season with a winning record of 8-3.
