Chad Whittemore ’01 was a four-year standout with the Castleton baseball program, leading the team to its first winning record in seven years as a junior and helping to set the table for the future success of the program. Whittemore was selected as the team MVP in each of his final three seasons and was also named team captain as a senior. He finished his career with then program records of 124 hits, 27 doubles and 40 extra base hits. Over his final three seasons he batted over .415 twice and .398 overall while recording 104 hits, scoring 67 runs, driving in 61 runs and belting nine home runs. The shortstop helped the team qualify for the NAIA Region X Tournament as a junior and senior while also earning NAIA Region X All-Conference honors both years. Whittemore graduated from Castleton with a degree in sports administration in 2001. He currently works as a linesman for Green Mountain Power and is based out of Middlebury, Vermont.
