Harriet Barrett Murray ’77 was a versatile and highly skilled athlete and an extraordinary team player. She was a varsity letter winner in four sports, and in her senior year was named MVP in three: field hockey, basketball, and softball. She was selected from Castleton’s powerful field hockey team to play in the Northeast Sectional Tournament. In basketball – in a year in which the team finished 14-2 – she scored a team-leading 227 points. In softball, she was a center fielder and pitcher who batted third in the lineup. She now officiates junior varsity basketball for both girls and boys in Vermont.
