A two-time Team MVP and a key contributor during one of the most successful stretches in Castleton women’s basketball history, Jade Hungerford (Desroches) ’15 ranks fifth all-time in program scoring with 1,420 career points. She also holds the Castleton record for career games played (124), reflecting both her durability and consistent presence on the court across four seasons. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tim Barrett, Hungerford (Desroches) helped guide the Spartans to a dominant 101–17 record, including back-to-back North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. The Berkshire, Vermont native was named NAC Player of the Year for the 2014–15 season and earned Tournament MVP honors in 2013–14. She was recognized with All-Conference selections in both years and made a major impact in postseason play, including a career-high 32-point performance in a First Round NCAA Tournament victory over No. 23 Bowdoin. Her efforts earned her recognition as a D3hoops.com All-Region selection, solidifying her status as one of the top players in the region during her collegiate career. In addition to her on-court accomplishments, Hungerford (Desroches) graduated with a degree in Health Science. Following graduation, she spent several years working in the medical field before transitioning to a career in public service. For the past seven years, she has worked as an officer for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
