Geoff Simons ’00 is the most prolific goal-scorer in the history of the Spartan Men’s Lacrosse program, tallying 173 career goals during his four-year career. While at Castleton he was a four-time All-Mayflower Conference player and earned three team Most Valuable Player awards. As a first-year standout in 1997, Simons was part of a resurgent Castleton squad that won the Mayflower Conference title after winning just one game the season before his arrival. His sophomore campaign saw Simons reach new heights on an individual level as he set Castleton records for goals in a game (12) and goals in a season (51) while ranking second in the nation in goals per game. His final three seasons each rank among the top-ten scoring campaigns in Castleton history, including his junior season in which he set a program record with 29 assists to go along with 42 goals for a record 71 points, both marks have since fallen. Simons capped his sterling career with yet another fantastic season and was honored with the Rocky Mezzetta Memorial Award. The proud father of two currently calls Dover, New Hampshire home and is the manager at a non-profit organization. Since graduating from Castleton he has earned his Master’s degree in film studies from Exeter University in England, where he played club lacrosse and toured throughout Europe. He has traveled through much of South America on his way to running a marathon in Antarctica in addition to marathons in San Diego and England.
