Richard Riordan, ’69 was a standout two-sport athlete lettering in both soccer and baseball. As the top scorer on the men’s soccer team, Richard used his offensive skills to help guide his team to four winning seasons.  On the baseball diamond, Richard was an exceptional center fielder who hit for power and average.  He led his team in hitting in his senior season with a .361 batting average.  He helped his team win two consecutive NESCAC Championships in 1968 and 1969.  After graduation, Richard’s enthusiasm for baseball continued, as he was a very successful player in the Hartford, Connecticut Twilight League, later being inducted into their hall of fame. An elementary school teacher, an avid golfer, a man who loved sports, Richard passed away peacefully in March 1999.
