Carolyn Stewart, ’86, was a standout two-sport athlete lettering in field hockey and softball. She was one of the most dominating softball pitchers in Castleton State softball history. She led Castleton in four straight Mayflower Conference Championships as well as a trip to the 1986 National Softball tournament. Carolyn was named to the All-Mayflower Conference team, All-District team, and was recognized as the Spartans’ Most Valuable Player in 1986, as she established a new school pitching record by posting an impressive total of 19 wins. In addition to her many accomplishments on the softball field, Carolyn was also a captain on two Mayflower Conference Championship field hockey teams. Carolyn is currently a well-respected Physical Education teacher at Lamoille Union High School in Hyde Park, Vermont.
