PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Jacques Alfani of the Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team earned Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors following a career-best performance against Paul Smith's. 

In the Spartans' 4-0 win over Paul Smith's on Sunday, Alfani recorded two goals and two assists to lead Castleton to its first win of the season. He opened the scoring in the 15th minute after receiving a ball from Holden Crouthamel and beating his defender before finding the back of the net. Three minutes later, Alfani added his second goal of the afternoon, finishing a cross from Sam Barr off the top of the crossbar and into the net. He later assisted on both of Barr's goals, finishing with six points. 

The Spartans host Eastern Connecticut on Saturday (September 19) at Dave Wolk Stadium for a Little East Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
