PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Ava LaRoss of the Vermont State University Castleton field hockey team earned the first Little East Conference accolade of her collegiate career as she was named the Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 5.
The Spartans took down Russell Sage College 5-2 on Tuesday before returning home on Saturday where they dominated WestConn, 5-0, for their first LEC victory of the season.
LaRoss scored once in win over the Gators, owning the game-winner.
The sophomore was the Wolves' worst nightmare on Saturday, recording five points on two goals and an assist. She now ties with her teammate
Gwyn Vincent for fourth in the LEC with six goals.
LaRoss and the Spartans will take a quick break from conference play as they travel to Western New England University on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup up with the Golden Bears.
