Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – Junior Trevor Kotrady (North Clarendon, Vt.) scored his second goal of the weekend, but it wasn't enough as three different Terriers scored to lead Thomas College to a 3-1 win over Castleton in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's soccer action Sunday.
With the win the Terriers improve to 7-4 (3-3 NAC) and pick up their third win in a row. The visiting Spartans fall to 7-5-1 (4-1 NAC) dropping their first NAC game of the season, and first since 2009. Castleton had reeled off an impressive 15-game unbeaten streak, going 14-0-1 since losing to UMF on October 4, 2009.
A Matt Ford (Mid Glamorgan, Wales, UK) penalty kick put the hosts on top at the 26:32 mark, but Kotrady netted the equalizer four minutes later. Dillon Zaengle (Westhampton, Mass.) set up Kotrady for his team-leading 10th goal of the season.
Khamisi Lightbourne (Sandy's, Bermuda) put the Terriers on top for good during the 49th minute, converting a Ford assist. Michael Hand (Essex, England, UK) notched an unassisted insurance marker during the 67th minute to ensure the win.
Nate Koenemann (Montpelier, Vt.) stopped eight shots in the loss, while Mikkail Crockwell (St. David's, Bermuda) made 12 saves in the win.
