Men's Soccer Concludes Season With Draw Against Owls

KEENE, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team concluded its season against Keene State on Wednesday night, as the two teams pulled to a 1-1 draw in Little East Conference action.

How it Happened:
  • Both teams traded chances in the first half, with the Spartans earning two corner kicks to Keene's three, but neither side converted.
  • Liam Cramer fired off two shots in the sixth minute, but the first was blocked, and the second was saved by the keeper.
  • Castleton's lone goal of the day came in the 38th minute as Jacques Alfani fired off a hard shot to the top right of the net, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • The Owls fired off three shots in the first 20 minutes of the second half before sneaking one past Xander Berthiaume in the 68th minute to tie the game up at one apiece.
