Castleton stymied by Kean

Union, NJ – The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team dropped an 18-1 non-conference match-up at Kean University Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars recorded goals in each quarter as they improved to 7-4 overall this season.  The loss drops Castleton to 3-5.

Kean outshot the Spartans, 53-8 while also holding a 30-18 advantage in groundballs.

Offensively, senior C.J. Gannon (Morris Plains, N.J.) had two goals and two assists while freshman Tom Clifford (West Islip, N.Y.) (pictured right) added two goals and an assist.  Sophomore Nick Angrisani (Belle Mead, N.J.) registered two goals and an assist as well as two groundballs.

Castleton's lone goal came from senior Korey Counos (St. Albans, Vt.) in the third quarter.

Castleton returns to North Atlantic Conference action Saturday at Husson University.
