CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's lacrosse team dropped a Little East Conference matchup to Massachusetts Maritime, 27-3, on Saturday afternoon at Dave Wolk Stadium.

How It Happened
Castleton found itself facing an early deficit as Massachusetts Maritime opened the contest with an eight-goal first quarter.

The Spartans continued to battle in the second frame but trailed by 14 at halftime as the visitors maintained control of possession.

Despite the scoreline, Castleton showed flashes offensively, breaking through for three goals across the contest.

Castleton broke through in the third quarter as Liam Evarts found the back of the net for his 21st goal of the season.

In the final quarter, Matt Gregoire scored twice for the Spartans, including a man-up goal, accounting for the remaining scoring in the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime continued its offensive push in the final quarter, claiming a 27-3 victory.
