CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's lacrosse team faced a tough Keene State squad on Wednesday evening, falling 20-6.

How it Happened
Keene opened the contest with its first goal at 14:03, but Castleton responded almost immediately as
Matt Gregoire found the back of the net off a feed from
Cole Bowditch to knot the game at 1-1 with 13:35 remaining in the opening quarter.
The Owls then scored nine unanswered goals to take a 10-1 lead after 15 minutes.
The second quarter went better for the Spartans, as they held the visitors to just one tally and trailed 11-1 heading into halftime.
The second half opened with three goals from the Owls before the Spartans strung together a pair, with
Preston Kozlowski scoring the first and Bowditch adding the second off an assist from
Liam Evarts.
Castleton doubled its goal total in the fourth quarter, as Gregoire added his second of the day and
Carter Frankenhoff netted a pair of his own. Keene closed the game with six more goals in the final period to secure the 20-6 victory.
