Box Score Beverly, MA-The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team's record-setting season came to an end at the hands of Endicott College 29-5 in the semifinal round of the ECAC New England Championship.
The Gulls, ranked 16th nationally, opened up a 12-1 lead after the first period and held a 19-3 edge at halfitme.
Endicott opened the game on a 10-0 run before Castleton's Michael Martinez and Brett QUillia hooked up for the Spartans' first goal.
Martinez led the Spartans with three goals, while Craig MacDerment and Derek Reilly each had one.
Endicott's Nick Cosco tallied 11 points on seven goals and four assists to lead the 17-3 Gulls to the Championship round.
Chris Wynne stopped four first-half shots before giving way to Michael Mamunes in goal who stopped nine in the second half.
Castleton's season comes to a close at 13-7. The 13 wins is the most in program-history, and the semifinal loss is the deepest the Spartans have gone in the ECAC Tournament.
