Castleton stumbles on the road versus Keene State

Keene, NH – The Castleton State College women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-8 non-conference game at Keene State, to fall to 7-6 on the season.

Marie VanDerKar scored three goals to lead the Spartan offense.

Keene State jumped out to a 12-4 win at halftime, after the two teams traded goals for the first 10 minutes of play. With the scored tied 2-2, the Owls went on a 7-0 run over the next eight minutes to put the game away.

Jill Kirk, Dene Tully, Jamie Albert, and Jenny Lillis each scored three goals for the 10-5 Owls.

Castleton received two goals apiece from Nicole Adams and Katelyn Greene, while Merdith Pope stopped 12 shots in the loss.

Castleton returns home on Thursday, when the Spartans host New England College in a 4:00 pm non-conference match-up.
