Vermont State University Castleton Director of Athletics Tim Barrett has announced Dave Miceli as head women's lacrosse coach.

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Miceli to our athletic department," said Barrett. "Throughout a highly successful high school coaching career, he has demonstrated an exceptional ability to develop student-athletes, build a strong team culture, and achieve sustained competitive success. We believe those qualities will translate seamlessly to the collegiate level, and we are excited for the future of our women's lacrosse program under his leadership."

Miceli is a member of the US Lacrosse Century Club having amassed over 200 varsity high school wins. He has won four state championships in 10 state finals appearances in 15 years coaching girls' lacrosse at Burr and Burton Academy. Miceli is a six-time Marble Valley League Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year and a two-time Twin State Girls Lacrosse Coach.

"Castleton has always held a place in my heart because it occupies such an important space in making higher education acceptable to so many Vermonters," said Miceli. "Coaching at this level will challenge me to continue to grow my own skillset. I am looking forward to working under the mentorship of the many great coaches at Castleton."

Miceli retired as Director of Athletics at Burr and Burton this past July.

"When I retired as a high school educator, I knew that I wanted to spend my time doing something meaningful and challenging," said Miceli. "Coaching the women's lacrosse team here at Castleton fulfills both of those qualities. I love the opportunity to impact the quality of the students' experience during a transitional and sometimes tumultuous phase in their lives and additionally to set them up with skills that will be valuable throughout their lives.
