KEENE, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's lacrosse team saw its hopes of a playoff run dashed on Wednesday evening, falling to Keene State, 17-6.

How It Happened
Castleton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring twice in a 49-second span.
Taylor Tallmadge recorded the game's first tally off an assist from
Megan Culp, while Culp followed with a goal of her own, assisted by
Lanza Bellomo.
Keene responded with a two-goal burst in the 11th minute to even the score at 2-2.
Culp netted her second goal of the day at 9:34 on a free-position attempt, but the Owls answered immediately to tie the game at 3-3.
Phoebe Loomis then found the back of the net at 7:36, marking the Spartans' final lead of the contest at 4-3.
From there, the hosts went on a decisive 12-goal run that stretched into the third quarter, building a 15-4 advantage with 17 minutes remaining.
Courtney Magee opened the fourth quarter scoring with her first goal of the season, and
Renny Cota added another at the 11:22 mark. Keene closed out the game with two more goals to secure the 17-6 victory.
