Box Score Waterville, ME-The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to four games with an 11-8 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Thomas College.
The Spartans used a balanced scoring attack and received an incredible effort from goalie Chris Wynne to earn the NAC win. Wynne stopped 23 shots, including 14 in the second half and nine in the fourth period alone.
Phil Barry led the offense with two goals and three assists, while Michael DelDotto added two goals and one assist. DelDotto scored the game-winner 1:14 into the fourth period unassisted.
Castleton received single tallies from: Daniel Luzzi, Jake Rick, Craig MacDerment, Robert Hass, Josh Davis, Derek Riley and Brett Quillia. Quillia also contributed two assists to up his season total to 23. Rick had nine ground balls and leads the team with 85 on the season.
Kolby Pecham had four goals to lead the 4-4 (3-3 NAC) Terriers.
Castleton improves to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Spartans will take on St. Joseph's College (Me.) on Sunday at 12:00 pm.
