Box Score Plattsburgh, NY-The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team lost its second straight game to start the 2008 season, 24-2 at Plattsburgh State.
The Cardinals improved to 2-1 on the season, and will now play their next seven games away from their home field. Castleton falls to 0-2 and trails the all-time series with Plattsburgh, 5-1.
Senior Frank Sangiovanni led the Cardinals with eight goals, while Luke Weidlein added three goals and five assists for eight points. Junior Tom Cerny had two goals and four assists for six points.
Michael Martinez netted both goals for Castleton and Phil Barry assisted on both scores.
Billy Hughes started in net for the Cardinals and posted a pair of saves before giving way to Matt Billia (7) and Logan Carpenter (6) who combined for 13 saves.
Chris Wynne notched 17 saves in his first career start, before giving way to Michael Mamunes who stopped 10 shots.
Castleton returns to action on Saturday, March 15 when they travel to the Hampshire Dome ot take on Emerson College at 12:00 noon.
