Castleton falls on the road, 14-5 at Western Connecticut State

Danbury, CT - Castleton fell for the first time in three games, losing on the road 14-5 to Western Connecticut State.

Castleton fell behind early, trailing 5-1 after the first period and 8-1 at the half. The Spartans would receive four second-half goals, but it was not enough as the Colonials improved to 5-4 on the season.

Matt VanDerKar tallied three goals for Castleton, while Adam Rosati scored the other two.

Ron Pac led West Conn. with a five goal day, and goalie Kyle Wood stopped 15 shots to earn the win.

Michael Mamunes also made 15 saves for 3-3 Castleton. The Spartans return to action on Monday, April 9 when they hope to play their home opener versus Green Mountain College at 4:00 pm.
