CANTON, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team fell 3-0 to SUNY Canton Sunday afternoon in a nonconference matchup.

How it Happened:
The Spartans looked to get the offense going early, with
Nate Lurie and
Junior Carreira recording shots in the opening half.
SUNY Canton capitalized on a corner kick in the 30
th minute, using a quick header to take a 1-0 lead.
As the second half began, Castleton continued to search for an equalizer, with
Jacob Eiseman,
Jacob Catanzarita and
Joey Beggs each recording shots, but couldn't push it past Braydn Bovee.
The Roos extended their lead in the 63
rd minute with a rocket from outside the box to make it 2-0.
The Spartans continued to fight, with
Alex Roy making two late saves, but SUNY Canton added a third goal in the final seconds after a Spartan miscue to secure the 3-0 victory.
