Personal: Lurie joins VTSU - Castleton as a dedicated athlete and driven student, following a standout high school career in soccer. A three-year varsity letter winner at Columbia High School, he was a key contributor to his team’s success, including being a part of the 2022 NYS Section 2 Class A Championship team. He was also awarded Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season, showcasing his leadership and defensive prowess. Lurie's exceptional talent and work ethic earned him a spot in the Suburban Council Exceptional Senior Game during his senior year, an honor recognizing his commitment to excellence both on and off the field. He played club soccer alongside fellow Spartan Nate Wood, further sharpening his skills and competitiveness. A proud son of Jennifer and Eric Lurie, he was inspired by his father, Eric, who played soccer at the University at Buffalo, and has one sibling, Matthew. His favorite athletes, Eden Hazard and Dion Dawkins, motivate him to bring passion and dedication to everything he does. Off the field, Lurie is a member of the National Honor Society and is passionate about pursuing a career in law enforcement. He plans to major in Criminal Justice with aspirations to join the FBI in the future. Now at VTSU - Castleton, he looks forward to continuing his soccer career while pursuing his academic goals and future in criminal justice.
