Box Score RUTLAND, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's tennis team opened the 2026 campaign with a win over VTSU Johnson, 7-0.

The Spartans grabbed the doubles point from a 6-2 win at No. 1 by Trevor Castino and Tyler Burke, while Remy Maynard and Tanner Ciufo earned a win via default at No. 3. Addy Boynton and Jackson Paquin fell 6-0 at No.2.

Castleton swept the singles matches with two wins by default at No. 5 and No. 6 for Paquin and Boynton, while Castino took a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4. At No. 3, Charles Watson took his match 6-0, 6-0, while Maynard took the No. 2 match 6-4, 6-2. Ciufo's match was pushed to three sets, with Ciufo coming out on top 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.
