New London, Conn. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's track and field team competed at the New England DIII Outdoor T&F Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Spartans placed 26th overall with a total of 10 team points.
How it Happened:
- Isabell Lanfear competed in the javelin throw, where she launched the spear 34.11m to finish 13th overall.
- Karli Martin tossed 39.87m in the hammer throw to place 21st overall.
- Bethany Davis took action in the 10000m run, clocking in 41:58.71 to place 24th.
- On day two, Kalynn Stevenson started off in the shot put, where she placed 7th overall and secured two points for Castleton with her toss of 12.39m.
- Stevenson followed up with a massive performance in the discus throw, tossing a new personal/school record of 43.91m, placing her second in the event and securing eight points for the Spartans.
- Stevenson's mark currently places her 28th in all of Division III.
- Lanfear also saw action in day two in the shot put, placing 18th in the event with a mark of 11.42m.
This concludes the 2024-25 track and field season for the Spartans.
