SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's track and field team competed at the Springfield College Outdoor invite on Sunday.

How it Happened
- In the throws, Kalynn Stevenson captured first in the discus throw after tossing a new personal best of 39.88m on her last throw of the day, securing 10 points for the Spartans. Stevenson also took second place in the shot put with a toss of 11.55m for eight points and totaling her tally to 18 points for the Spartans.
- Three more Spartans threw personal best and collected 15 of Castleton's 25 points in the discus throw. Katelyn Yerdon launched her disc 33.05m to take third place. First-year Sienna Newth took fourth in the event with her throw of 32.88m and Luna Perry-St. Peter finished fifth with a mark of 32.56m.
- Bethany Davis clocked in a new personal record of 41:06 in the 10,000m run, where she placed first overall and secure 10 points for Castleton.
- Isabell Lanfear set a new personal best in the javelin throw, tossing 33.81m for a second place finish and eight points for the team. Perry-St. Peter also competed in the event, where she took sixth overall with 32.21m toss for three points.
- Karli Martin took third in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.49m to grab six points for Castleton. She also grabbed two points in the shot put with a mark of 10.26m which was good for a seventh place finish.
- Lanfear and Newth also competed in the shot put, with Lanfear finishing fourth in the event with a 10.62m toss to tally five points. Newth grabbed three points with her 10.27m throw that saw her take sixth overall.

VTSU Castleton will travel to Troy, N.Y. on Friday, April 11 for the RPI Friday Night Under the Lights.
