PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Vermont State University Castleton men's track and field team delivered another strong showing at the Plymouth Invitational II hosted by Plymouth State on Saturday.
Senior
Jon Hendley led the charge in the distance events, claiming second place in the 3000m run with a time of 9:19.78, to secure eight points for the Spartans.
Classmate
Wayne Alexander continues to build on a strong senior season as he finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:02.71 to add three more points to Castleton's total.
In the field events, junior
Carter Mackey demonstrated his dominance in the high jump, clearing 1.95m to earn third place and six points for the team. Meanwhile, sophomore
Sidiki Sylla impressed in the shot put, launching a throw of 12.79m to secure seventh place and two points. First year
Eddie Sayers followed closely behind with a mark of 12.76m, earning an additional point for Castleton.
With strong performances in both track and field events, the Spartans look to carry their momentum into their next contest as they travel to Middlebury on February 8 for another meet.
