NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's track and field team took eighth place at the Little East Championship, scoring 8 points on Sunday.
How It Happened:
- Carter Mackey finished fifth in the high jump, leaping 1.85m to secure two points for the Spartans.
- Sidiki Sylla added two points for Castleton in the shot put with a toss of 13.44m, placing him fifth. Eddie Sayers took seventh in the event with a throw of 12.77m and Deacon Watson finished ninth with a mark of 12.01m.
- Sayers launched a new personal best in the discus throw with a mark of 41.56m. Placing him fourth in the event to secure four points for the team total.
- Jon Hendley took to the 1500m where he placed sixth overall and grabbed one point with a time of 4:14.61.
- Wayne Alexander ran 2:04.92 in the 800m to finish 12th in the event.
- The team of Sean Roth, Brody Hopkins, Zack Durr and Mackey took to the 4x100m relay, where they placed eighth overall with a time of 46.35
- The squad of Durr, Hopkins, Alexander, and Hendley competed in the 4x400m relay and clocked in 3:46.23 for an eighth place finish.

VTSU Castleton will compete at the DIII New England Championships on May 2nd and 3rd in New London, Conn. hosted by Coast Guard.
