MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Vermont State University Castleton men's track and field standout Harrison Leombruno-Nicholson placed 11th at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, bringing home All-America hardware in the process.
His 11th-place finish in the javelin moved the Underhill, Vermont, native up three spots from his 14th-place ranking entering the event. His first attempt got him on the board with a toss of 50.76 meters. On his second throw, Leombruno-Nicholson sent the javelin soaring 60.04 meters - his best throw of the day and the 11th best at the event.
Leombruno earned Second Team All-America honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with his placement, becoming the first All-American in program history and capping off a highly decorated career at VTSU Castleton.
