UTICA, N.Y. – Vermont State University Castleton men's track and field placed 10th at the Utica Holiday Classic.
 
The Spartans traveled to Utica N.Y. for one more competition before the holiday break. Highlighting the meet was Daniel Doherty and Carter Mackey, who placed second and third in the high jump with a leap of 1.87m. Doherty and Mackey are currently tied in the LEC at fifth.
 
Senior Wayne Alexander finished eighth in the 800m with as time of 2:02. He currently leads the LEC and is seventh in the Mideast Region. Taylor Bourn placed 10th in the long jump with a mark of 6.32m and Matthew Spiller ran a personal record in the 400m with as time of 53.78 to place 16th.
 
The Spartans will enjoy the holiday break and return to action next year, January 13 at the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational.
