Box Score RUTLAND, Vt. – The Castleton men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision against Colby-Sawyer in their season-opener Saturday afternoon.
 
The Spartans' 1-4 players all fell in straight sets to the Chargers before Miguel Almirall Perez earned Castleton's lone victory of the day. The freshman battled against Colby-Sawyer's Charie Griffius in both sets before taking the 2-0 victory, winning 6-4 in the first set before a 7-5 decision earned him his first career win.
 
Simon Brenter earned a default victory at No. 6 and another in doubles matches with Rowan Kidder by default for the Spartans' second and third wins on the afternoon.
 
Next up for Castleton is a matchup against Norwich University set for Wednesday, March 16, with matches set to begin at 2 p.m.
