James Rodriguez made it nine straight wins for the Spartans with an 8-3 decision win over Jac St. Jean, giving Castleton a 43-0 lead. The Pride ended the day with their only varsity win at 149 pounds, as Chase Parrott—the No. 2 149-pounder in the NEWA—bested Nicholas Roeger by a 4-1 decision. Roeger entered Sunday ranked seventh by the NEWA at 149 pounds.

The two sides also wrestled 22 exhibition bouts in addition to the varsity match, with Castleton claiming victory in 12 of the 22 matchups.
