The Spartans got off to a fast start, as they took a lead less than two minutes into the contest. McLenithan took a pass from Hutnak to get a breakaway and found the back of the net for the second time this season to give her team an early, 1-0 lead.

Middlebury answered back in the 28th minute, when Glaser beat Binkowski off an assist from Rebecca Palacios to even things at 1-1. Middlebury continued its offensive pressure the remainder of the half, outshooting the Spartans 12-6 overall in the opening stanza, and 6-3 on goal.

Middlebury got off to a quick start in the second half, as they jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the 48th minute. After Binkowski punched a corner kick opportunity away, the Panthers regained control in the box where Katherine Hobbs found the back of the net with a left-footed shot to give her squad the lead. Just 58 seconds later, Glaser got her second goal of the game when she fielded a pass at the far post and tucked it in to make it a 3-1 game in favor of the home side.

Middlebury had multiple goals called off due to offsides calls, as the Panthers were called for the miscue 13 times on the day. Middlebury held a 23-5 shot edge, including an 11-2 edge in the second half. The Panthers also put 13 shots on goal to Castleton's three and took five corner kicks while the Spartans failed to receive one.

Castleton looks to get back on track on Saturday afternoon on the road against Colby-Sawyer when it returns to North Atlantic Conference action. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
