PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Following a successful season for the Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team,
Gwen Bridges earned All-LEC Second Team honors, while
Emma Ezzo and
Maggie McKearin were tabbed All-LEC Third Team.
Bridges was named to the All-LEC Second Team following her junior season. She notched one point on the season from her first career assist against Plymouth State in Castleton's 2-0 win, earning herself LEC Defensive Player of the Week. The defender logged 1,414 minutes on the season through 17 games and registered one shot on goal. The honor marks her first career All-LEC accolade.
Senior goalkeeper Ezzo was tabbed All-LEC Third Team, following a historic final season as a Spartan. She hit 300 saves this season before setting the new program record for all-time career saves, with 396. She posted five shutouts, with seven wins, for 19 wins and 12 shutouts in her career. She earned LEC Goalkeeper of the Week at the end of the season, following a 3-0 week in goal, with all three wins coming via shutouts. She posted a season-high 13 saves against RPI and finished the season with a .836 save percentage. Her name is written in the Castleton women's soccer record book for single-season save percentage and saves, and career wins, save percentage, and saves. This accolade marks the second of her impressive career in green and white.
McKearin earned Third Team honors following a career season. The senior forward combined for a team-leading 22 points from nine goals and four assists on the season. She registered 24 shots on goal through 18 games and 1,310 minutes played. She earned a career-high six points against MCLA from her first career hat trick and posted four points against Colby-Sawyer from one goal and two assists. This marks the second All-Conference accolade of her career.
