NEW LONDON, N.H. – Castleton fell to the Thomas Terriers this afternoon in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Semifinals for the second time in the last three seasons, 7-2.

With the win, the Terriers advance to the championship game and will face the top-seeded Colby-Sawyer Chargers, whereas the Spartans finish their season at 8-7 overall in the losing effort.

Thomas got off to a quick start in the contest by winning two of the three doubles games to take a 2-1 lead. Castleton fell in the first and second flight matches by scores of 8-2 and 8-3 before the tandem of Ryan Mulder and Trevor Hanna, who was named to the All-Conference Second Team earlier this week, secured the No. 3 match with an 8-2 decision.

The Terriers maintained their impressive play in the singles round, as they captured five of the six games, including the top three in straight sets. Andrew Overton picked up the lone Castleton singles victory by topping Caleb Cough in tiebreakers 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).

Furthermore, Mulder battled Caleb Mora in the No. 5 slot, but eventually fell in three sets. After losing the opening set 7-5, the freshman fought back to even the score by taking the second set 6-2. Unfortunately, Mora secured the victory with a 10-3 result in the third set. For his efforts, Mulder was selected to the 2015 NAC East All-Tournament Team.
