NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Castleton's men's tennis traveled to in-state rivals Norwich today for a non-conference contest, losing to the Cadets 9-0.

Norwich put on a dominating performance, as they won every singles match in straight sets to go along with sweeping the doubles games. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 2-3 on the season, while the Cadets capture their third straight win on the year to move to 4-1 overall.

In singles action, Seth Marcil turned in a solid performance in the second-flight with a 6-3, 6-4, while Tyler Wilcox suffered his first loss of the year in the No. 5 slot – 7-5, 7-5.

The tandem of Kyle Martin and Marcil battled to an 8-4 result in the top-flight doubles match followed by the duo of Andrew Overton and Wilcox, who lost 8-2 in the second-flight contest.

The Spartans return to action this Saturday at 1 pm when they open North Eastern Atlantic Conference play by hosting the MCLA Trailblazers at Grand Slam Tennis in Rutland, Vt.
