Softball Earns No. 2 Seed In NAC Tournament

CASTLETON, Vt. – Following its sweep of Lyndon St. on Tuesday afternoon Castleton softball has earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference Tournament, beginning May 2. 

The Spartans took the second seed after finishing 11-3 in conference play, including the last six in a row. Husson finished the regular season at 12-2 in conference play to earn the top sport and will host the six-team, double-elimination tournament beginning Friday, May 2. 

The Eagles will open the tournament against sixth-seeded Johnson State who finished the conference slate at 5-9. Husson has won five consecutive NAC Championsihps 

Castleton will play No. 5 Lyndon in Game two, followed by third seed UMaine-Farmington and fourth-seeded Thomas. An elimination game featuring the losers of game one and two will cap the first day's action. 

Action will continue through Saturday, May 3 and is set to conclude on Sunday, May 4.
