MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Weather conditions led to a venue change for Saturday's Little East Conference Tournament elimination game, moving the VTSU Castleton softball team's game against UMass Dartmouth from Spartan Field to Forbes Field at Middlebury College. The Corsairs used a late offensive surge to earn a 6-0 victory, ending the Spartans' season.

How it Happened:
Both teams were locked in a scoreless battle through the first six innings, as
Alex Brouillette kept UMass Dartmouth off the board while striking out six batters across 6.1 innings in the circle.
UMass Dartmouth broke through in the top of the seventh inning, stringing together five hits to take a 4-0 lead before the Spartans turned to
Madison Gould in relief. A two-RBI double to left center later in the inning pushed the Corsairs' advantage to 6-0 before Gould ended the inning with a strikeout.
Castleton looked to answer in the bottom half of the inning after
Alexis Rogers led off with a single through the left side.
Abby Hacker reached on a fielder's choice later in the frame, but the Spartans were unable to break through offensively as the Corsairs staved off elimination and ended Castleton's season.
Top Performers:
- Gould went 2-for-3 at the plate and added a strikeout in relief work.
- Brouillette struck out six over 6.1 innings pitched.
