New London, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers proved why they have been the team to beat in the North Atlantic Conference the past few years, unceremoniously sweeping the Spartans 9-0 on Saturday.
The Chargers were dominant throughout doubles play, winning all three flights at 8-0. In the singles matches, the Spartans were able to win a few games here and there, but couldn't muster a point. Kevin Rosset took Colby-Sawyer's Cass McCann to three sets at the third flight, but fell in a super tiebreaker. After dropping the first set, Rosset battled back to win the second set 7-5. With the match already decided, the freshman played in a 10-point super tiebreaker, falling 10-7.
With the loss, Castleton falls to 6-5 on the season with a 3-2 mark in the NAC. The squad will finish their regular season with a match against Lyndon St. on Tuesday, April 22. Castleton beat Lyndon 8-1 earlier in the year.
