Waterville, Maine - The Spartans suffered their first loss in four matches, falling to Thomas 6-3 on Saturday, April 12 in Waterville. Kyle Martin was a double-winner for the Spartans, but couldn't shoulder the load as the squad suffered their first conference loss.

In doubles play, Castleton won just one of three flights. Mike Glaser and Adam McCaffery were bounced at the top flight, 8-3, and Mike Divis teamed with Matt Trombley at the third flight and took an 8-3 loss as well. Martin and Kevin Rosset were the lone bright spot for the Spartans' taking second doubles 8-4. The pair remain undefeated at the second doubles flight, posting a 6-0 mark this year.

In singles play, Martin and Mike Divis were the only Castleton winners. Martin took the fourth singles flight with a 7-5, 6-1 victory while Divis powered through to a three-set victory at fifth singles. The senior took the first set 6-4, but dropped the second 6-2. In the third set, Divis held off Thomas' Jonte Roussel to earn the 6-4 win.

Castleton falls to 5-3 on the season with a 2-1 mark in conference play. The squad will return to action on Sunday, April 13 when they take on Southern Maine in a non-conference tilt.
