Spartans Silence MCLA 9-0

Castleton, Vt. – The Castleton men's tennis team put forth one its more dominating performances on the season, allowing just four points in last five singles flights on the way to a 9-0 victory over MCLA on Friday afternoon. 

Adam McCaffery, Mike Divis and Zac Conlogue all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 2, 3 and four singles to set the tone. Corey Kimball gave up just one point 6-1, 6-0 while Taylor Steele won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6. Sam Levine won a tough first set 7-6, and then earned the victory when his opponent retired. 

In doubles action, Matt Trombley and McCaffery won at No. 1, 8-0 while Levin and Conlogue were victorious 8-1 at No. 2. Kimball and Divis won 8-0 at No. 3. 

Castleton improved to 9-3 with the win and returns to action on Saturday when the team hosts Colby-Sawyer at 1 pm.
