Rutland, Vt. – Castleton took two of three doubles matches and control the back of the singles lineup to earn a 6-3 victory over Thomas College on Saturday at Grand Slam Tennis in Rutland.
The Spartans' No. 2 doubles pairing of Sam Levine and Zac Conlogue earned an 8-3 victory while Corey Kimball and Mike Divis teamed up at No. 3 to win by an 8-5 margin.
In singles, the back of the lineup was strong, led by Adam McCaffery's 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Divis won at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2 and Conlogue fought back from the first set loss of 6-4 to take the final two sets at No. 5 over Gershom Renee 6-1, 6-2. Corey Kimball finished off the wins for Castleton at No. 6.
The Spartans return to action on April 6 when they travel to face Johnson St. at 1 pm.
