Castleton swept at Husson in conference action

Bangor, ME-The Castleton State College softball team dropped a pair of North Atlantic Conference games at Husson College, 3-1 and 10-5. With the losses Castleton falls to 3-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while Husson remains unblemished in conference at 6-0 (9-6 overall).

Game One: Allison Lamay led the offense with two hits, while Laura Rogers had a run-scoring single.

Tosha Whittemore went the distance, allowing three earned runs (all in the third inning) in taking the loss.

Game Two: Castleton broke out for 12 hits, but it wasn't enough as the host Eagles proved to be too tough once again in taking the 10-5 win.

Brandy White was 2-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored to lead the offense. Laura Rogers, Cassandra Koehne and Allison Lamay each had two hits while Angie Carpenter added two hits and two runs scored.

Castleton returns to action in its home opener on April 8, versus Plymouth State.
